FAQs

What does 'documentary style' photographer mean?

I describe myself as a documentary style wedding photographer as I place an emphasis on telling the story of the day through the photos, instead of just capturing awkward, staged shots that have people standing around for long periods of time. However, please do not think this means I do not take any staged shots! I am always willing to listen to what you would like, and I will always take some staged shots to make sure that you have those perfect family photos for those who want them.

What do you wear for weddings?

I will always aim to fit in with your aesthetic for the wedding but usually I would wear smart trousers and a shirt/jumper.

How do we make sure you're free for our day?

Contact me! Once we have our initial consultation and you decide whether I’m the right photographer for you, then we can go ahead and secure your date. When you are ready to secure the date I will take a small retainer fee.

What do your 'extras' mean?

I offer one simple package so you know exactly what you are getting, but I also offer some great extras in case you want any additional options. I have listed these below and explain a bit about what they all mean! If there is anything else that you would like me to do then please do ask me and I will try my best to help. To view the prices for these extras please click here.

A second photographer for the day: This is something that may be useful if you are having a particularly large wedding and is something that you are welcome to discuss with me if you are unsure about.

Engagement/pre-wedding shoot: This is a popular option and involves us taking some beautiful photographs at a location convenient for you before the wedding. These are normally just of the happy couple and is a great way to get some close and intimate shots that you may not have time for on the hectic wedding day!

A handcrafted luxury wedding album: Although I provide you all the photographs from your amazing day in both high resolution and social media ready formats in both a secure online gallery and on your own memory stick, this option provides you with a luxurious and tactile option. I only use the finest luxury albums and can always provide you with a sample to look over!

Are you willing to travel?

Absolutely! I absolutely love travelling, so if you have a query about travel please don’t hesitate to contact me. No amount of travelling is too big or too small – I am happy to travel locally, to the rest of the UK or abroad.

Do you charge extra for travel expenses?

Travel is part of my business and therefore generally I do not. I like to give you the best possible experience in every respect, and that comes down to value for money too. I will factor in a cost of travel to my quotes to you if necessary and will be completely transparent about this in our consultation, for example if you would like me to travel abroad.

Do you require food on the day?

No! Not at all. If you want to provide food for me then that is great but please do not feel obliged to as I am more than happy to provide my own meal for the day.

What does a 'full day' of photography look like?

I offer a full day package, which means that I start in the morning of your wedding day, with the bridal/groom preparations. I then stay until after the first dance to make sure that we capture those perfect dance floor memories!  Along with lots of hours of colour correction and editing after the day to make the photos look perfect.

What do you have to do after the wedding? Why can it take so long to get my photos?

In my packages I offer a special service to provide you with a small selection of beautifully edited photos that are ready to share on your social media on the evening of the wedding itself!

However, it can take up to 6 weeks for all of your photos to be fully edited and available for you to access. This is because I can take in the region of 3000 images in one service and I spend a lot of time after the event, going through these, selecting the best, individually colour correcting them and editing them to provide you with the best possible images.
